Eifen & Eighth Academy exists because tech skills alone don't change a life — a job does. In under-served Nigerian communities, rising unemployment drives talent toward migration or despair. While free online technical courses are abundant, the critical human and physical infrastructure required to successfully finish them is missing.
We don't compete with massive online course providers; we build the bridge on top of them. We fund the physical infrastructure—laptops and data connectivity—and wrap each student in a human support network of industry mentors and strict accountability tracking.
To ensure deep, measurable impact over superficial scale, we operate strictly on a trusted peer-referral basis. By scaling intentionally through recommendations from current and former beneficiaries, we maintain an exceptionally high success rate. We take full responsibility for the step most programs ignore: moving a young person safely from finishing a course to earning a sustainable paycheck.
We started with ten young people and a spreadsheet. What we learned quickly is that donors don't just want to know their money arrived — they want to know what it did. That's the whole reason this foundation is built the way it is.

Protecting our Beneficiaries
We believe that protecting vulnerable youth requires absolute control over their personal narratives. No one in our program is ever named publicly unless they have explicitly asked to share their journey. This choice is baked directly into our system architecture, putting the control entirely in the hands of the beneficiary. If a participant decides to withdraw their consent, our system automatically strips their identifying details from our public platforms instantly—removing the risk of human error or forgotten updates. Your investment funds breakthroughs, never exploitation.
Our commitment to privacy extends far beyond blocking names; we apply strict data security principles to our metrics. If a cohort or group is small enough that an individual could be identified by a process of elimination, we do not publish those specific sub-totals at all. Instead, these metrics are securely aggregated into our program-wide totals. This ensures that while our donors receive mathematically flawless data on overall organizational impact, our beneficiaries remain completely shielded from unintended public exposure.
